This article outlines the methods for viewing managing attendance through the Student Information Panel. Sufficient permissions are required to access these options which are outlined in detail at the end of this article.

Overview of the SIP Attendance pane
The Attendance pane in the SIP is primarily used to:
- View a student's attendance
- View a student's attendance history (ie. the 'Attendance stack')
- Troubleshoot attendance issues
- Edit existing attendance (if permissions allow)
- Create and manage attendance solutions (if permissions allow)
Methods for selecting a student in the SIP:
- Click on the 'Select a student' drop-down at the top of the SIP, scroll down to find the correct student. Alternatively, start typing the students first or surname. This will filter the list making it easier to find the correct student
- Click on the students name anywhere in SEQTA where the students are listed (eg. the Attendance roll page).
Accessing and viewing attendance through the SIP
- Select a student from the drop-down list in the SIP panel
- Select the View attendance history icon '@' at the right of the SIP
- If the attendance is not for the current week, change click the option 'One week' and change to the desired time period.
- To view attendance for periods where there are no timetabled classes click on the Time-based button.
- If historical information is required, click on the date itself (in 'Time-based' view) to open the Attendance Stack. Hover over the bars for additional information on the attendance entry.
Editing and resolving attendance through the SIP
- Select the student from the drop-down list in the SIP panel.
- Select the View attendance history icon '@' at the right of the SIP
- If the attendance is not for the current week, change click the option 'One week' and change to the desired time period.
- To view attendance for periods where there are no timetabled classes click on the Time-based button. If no attendance for the day has been recorded, nothing will show for the day. Where this is the case the Attendance can be entered through the SIP using the steps below.
- Click on the Add Solution button at the bottom of the SIP. A 'Resolve attendance' box will pop up.
- Check the date, time, type and other fields are set correctly
- Enter brief details (eg. note from parent)
- Click Save
Applying an Attendance Solution through the SIP
- Select the student from the drop-down list in the SIP panel.
- Select the Attendance icon '@' at the right of the SIP
- If the attendance for the student has been marked, eg X absent, you can click directly on the attendance icon and the 'Resolve attendance' box will appear OR
- Click the Add solution button to add an Attendance solution
- Check the date, time, type and other fields are set correctly
- Enter brief details (eg. note from parent)
- Click Save.
Permissions for managing attendance through the SIP
- ATT: DTLS - View Attendance solution details (SIP pane and Attendance Administration page)
- ATT: EDIT - Edit Attendance, this does not include Attendance solutions, only Attendance roll marking
- ATT: SIP - View Attendance solution details in the Attendance SIP pane
- ATT: SOLNS - Add or change attendance solutions in the SIP
- ATT ADM: EDIT - Edit solutions on the Attendance Admin page
- ATT ADM: PRINT - Print reports on Attendance Admin page
