Class was Bridged when it should not have been
Removing a class from a bridge causes the programme to be unattached along with marks book results. Save any results, submissions or comments in the marks book before removing the class from the bridge.
To remove a class from a bridge, click on the bridge icon for affected class and remove the furthermost right class from the bridge by setting the value to 'Unspecified (null)', then selecting OK and Save.
Programme was Copied instead of Class being Bridged
If a class (course) is a continuation from a previous reporting period, the class should be bridged. This will allow the results and programme from the previous reporting period to carry over and be available in the current reporting period. If instead the programme copy option was used, first un-attach this redundant copy of the original programme from the current class, then bridge the class from the previous reporting period to the current class.
Save any results, submissions or comments in the marksbook before un-attaching a programme from a class. Results cannot be accessed once the programme has been unattached.
Programme was Shared instead of Copied
When a programme is copied a separate instance of the original programme along with a new marks book. If this is not done, rather the programme was shared please follow the steps in the steps in found here.
Programme was Copied instead of Shared
The setup process for cases where there are multiple classes in the same cohort, is to create one copy of a programme, then share that programme with other classes. If care is not taken to select the share option, the result will be multiple classes each with their own programme (and marksbooks).
This can be corrected by un-attaching the programmes from all classes except one, then sharing the remaining programme with the other classes.
Save any results, submissions or comments in the marksbook before un-attaching a programme from a class. Programmes and their marksbooks cannot be merged.
If teachers have lessons they wish to keep from the programme being unattached, the 'Import lessons' tool on the Organise lessons page of the programme can be used.
If teachers would like to have their own set of lessons, resources, etc. then follow the Pathways setup process.
If there are no results in the marks book:
- Decide which programme will be the master programme to be shared with the class cohort and identify the class with this programme on it.
- Un-attach the unnecessary programme copies from the other classes.
- Go back to the class where the original programme remains attached.
- Click on 'Edit Collaboration Settings' and Share the programme to the other class/es.
If there are results in the marks book:
- Decide which programme will be the master programme to be shared with the class cohort and identify the class with this programme on it.
- Export the marks book results for all the other classes.
- Un-attach the unnecessary programme copies from the other classes.
- Go back to the class where the original programme remains attached.
- Click on 'Edit collaboration settings' and Share the programme to the other class/es.
- Each teacher will need to manually re-enter assessment results and reporting data from the spreadsheet. Submissions will need to be uploaded.
Programme Un-Attached from its Class then Shared to a New Class (With Results from Both Classes)
Take a copy of the results in the current programme:
- Go to the Teaching Workspace > My classes.
- Click on the Marks book icon and 'All classes' from the top of the page
- Open the reporting section then click To Excel, Full Marks Book, then save the spreadsheet. If there is more then one reporting period saved in the programme change the report filters and then save these To Excel in a separate spreadsheet. The teacher will require these to re-enter the results once the process below is complete.
- Delete the results from the programme.
- Click Save.
Un-attach the programme from the current classes and share it back to the original classes:
- Go to the Teaching Workspace > My Classes.
- If the programme is on another teachers class, then select the teacher's name in the top-right corner.
- Click the Load Programme icon for the class.
- Click the Edit Collaboration Settings button.
- Click on the Bin icon for both classes > click Yes to the 'Remove attachment' prompt and click OK.
- Click the Edit Collaboration Settings button.
- Change 'Automatic' to the current timetable period.
- Find and select classes and click Share > Yes > OK. If 'Share' is greyed out please contact the SEQTA Service Desk for assistance.
Moving Results from one Programme to Another
There is no quick way to move data from one marks book into another. The teacher will need to manually transcribe their results and comments. The SEQTA Service Desk are able to move reporting data (the information from the purple reporting section). Note: This service is only offered where there are more than 10 students and there have been comments entered. Email authorisation from the SEC or Teacher is required and the email must state the new and old programme IDs.
