The 'Student <-> Guardian' Record determines:
- which Guardian Records display for a selected student in the SIP.
- which Guardians are flagged for correspondence.
- which Guardians are flagged for SEQTA Engage access.
Externally Managed: Created by the Sync Process
The Student <-> Guardian Records, for schools with an external Administration system are created by the sync process. The flags for correspondence are are detriment by the sync rule.
Internally Managed: Created and managed directly in SEQTA
The Student <-> Guardian record links the guardian record to the student record via the guardian's 'code' (see image below).
- Go to the Administration Workspace > Data Management.
- If the guardian 'Code' is not known, select 'Guardians' on the left hand side. Use the search box to find the Guardian record, and note the 'Code'. Click 'Cancel' in the bottom-left corner of the edit pane.
- Select the component 'Student <-> Guardian' on the left-hand side.
- Select 'Add Record' from the toolbar. Alternately, use the search box to view or edit an existing record (If the sync is enabled, changes made in SEQTA will be overwritten).
- Make any adjustments required.
- Click 'Save'.
